Matthew Davis Does the Double; Wins MNM Overall & Rookie Championship

Matthew “MDSoccer35” Davis (41-22-2) held off Christopher “RezedentGenius” Hammer (36-31-3) for 9 week, and with a couple wins in Tuesday night’s 5PM pod, clinched his first Plague League championship…and his second.

Davis & Hammer were (which sounds like a law firm you can trust) were the only two players to compete in all 18 of season 4’s pods. Matt booked 125 points and 3 pod wins, in a very impressive rookie outing. Hammer, also a rookie contender posted 111 points, despite not earning a pod win.

Season 3 champion, Lucas Garofolo took a hiatus for the season leaving the championship up for new hands to grab. David Carrera, who took the season 2 title struggled a bit with his mono white builds, posting a 21-19 records, good for 3rd this season.

King of the Mountain Michael “Mooch” Mucciolo grabbed his fourth Top 4 banner, scoring 60 points across 8 events.

87 players took part in at least one Monday Night Magic even this season, with 36 scoring points in at least 2 pods. Monday night marked the last Monday Night Magic of 2020. We’ll be taking the month of December off to prepare for a full 2021 season.
